The Department of Science and Cooperation together with the Academic School “General Educational Disciplines” organized a lecture on October 8, 2024 on the topic “German Unification 1990 – a Critical Inventory”, which was given by Prof. Bodo Lochmann, Dr. Sc.oec., from the University of Applied Science Zittau/Görlitz, (Germany). The event attracted great interest among students and teachers, attracting a large audience.
Professor Lochmann analyzed in detail the process of German unification in 1990, focusing on both the political and economic aspects of this historical event. Particular attention was paid to critically understanding the consequences of unification for different regions of the country, as well as the challenges that the new state faced.
The lecture was held in the format of an open dialogue, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss current topics related to the history and economy of the united Germany.
