EXTENDED ROUND TABLE SESSION AT «Q UNIVERSITY»: NEW TRENDS IN INTERACTION BETWEEN BUSINESS AND UNIVERSITIES

On February 21, 2025, an extended roundtable meeting was held by the Academic Committee of Business and Management at “Q UNIVERSITY” on the topic “Interaction between Business and Universities in Professional Education: New Trends.”

Modern business cannot exist without qualified professionals – human capital is the key resource for implementing innovative ideas. During the roundtable, participants discussed current changes in the field of Kazakhstani education, the root causes of existing problems, and the tasks facing students and university partners.

Opening the session, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Member of the Board of Trustees of “Q UNIVERSITY” A.A. Satybaldin emphasized the importance of dialogue between universities and the business community to improve the quality of professional education.

The speakers of the roundtable, held in ZOOM format, included:

• Dinara Nurgaliyevna Akynbekova – PhD in Economics, Director of the Business Regulation Department and Managing Director of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken”;
• Tatyana Bronislavovna Klimova – Associate Professor at the Department of Service Marketing and Brand Management, University of Public Administration (Moscow, Russia);
• Guzaliya Salikhovna Klychova – Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Accounting and Auditing at the Institute of Economics, Kazan State Agrarian University (Kazan, Russia).

As part of the roundtable, N.E. Dabyltayeva, Head of the School of Educational Standards “Business and Management”, presented an analysis of the educational programs for the 2025–2026 academic year, including their content and the catalog of elective courses.

Participants in the discussion on challenges and prospects for the development of educational programs included:

• I.V. Bogomazova – Head of Department at Belgorod State National Research University (Russia);
• M.A. Otoshova – CEO of “Allies Distribution”;
• B.R. Kaziev – Head of the Department for Legal Entities;
• T.N. Komekbay – Branch Manager at “Freedom Bank Kazakhstan” JSC;
• as well as representatives of employers, partner universities, and colleges.

As a result of the roundtable, proposals were adopted to improve the educational programs of the Academic School of “Business and Management.”

The event was concluded by Vice-Rector for Research at “Q UNIVERSITY,” PhD in Economics R.M. Ruzanov, who thanked the participants for the constructive dialogue and valuable recommendations.
